I like to look at the recent work by Ryan Thompson, he started with a $5,000-ish budget for Zombie Apocalypse. (You might be saying 'Yech' who needs another Zombie film?) But hear me out. Ryan went on to produce a sequel. Casting Fred "the hammer" Williamson, Ryan rallied a nice production fund and he completed his 2nd feature film. This movie has Marquee value and it taps into a Genre that is popular.
Oh bye the way, I've never met Ryan, and I don't know a thing about him. BUT his is the kind of success I like to see. Would you like to discuss how we can make a movie together? Join us in the Grosse Pointe/Saint Clair Shores Michigan area.
You might be wondering why I'm suggesting this side of town. It's because in Metro Detroit we already have groups in Oakland/Wayne County that require folks like me to drive 45 minutes. That might not seem like allot to some of you, but my needs are different than other groups. I want to form a filmmaking group that has the ability to meet up every week if the need arises.
Our meetings will be open minded and flexible. We'll always talk about what YOU need in order to produce your movie, TV show or Webisode...Then we might just decide to watch a movie, or have a cup of java and talk media in general. I love most all films, especially Sci-Fi, and I get a kick out of satire and movies like the original Evil Dead -- but I'm not always crazy about documentaries -- but maybe you are and maybe you have a passion for a certain topic.
This kind of brain-teasing, thought starting conversation may lead us to decide to make a movie or support a movie somehow, such as via the "Tugg" service.
